Th3 Fat

I’ve been called a Jane-of-all-trades, a lot, but I prefer to think of myself as a renaissance woman. I have a lot of interests including finding out as much as humanly possible about the world around me, creating art, in various mediums (metal, plants, paper, paint, audio, video, dance, etc.,) and traveling as much as possible.

I have lived in Atlanta, Colorado Springs, and mostly Dallas, TX. That’s where I am at now. It’s my home base, but I belong to the world.

Struggling with chronic health problems has been a challenge, but I’m not going to let it dim my light. I have always wanted to help others, but first I had to help myself.

There’s a deep desire in me to share what has worked for me so that others may find life more joyful and easier. That is one of my first lessons… life doesn’t have to be hard. It can be, but it’s all a matter of perspective. I’ve managed to open my heart and find joy and fulfillment despite the challenges.

Looking back on my life, I can see that some of the hardest things, the things that almost broke me, made me strong and flexible, like an oak tree. I might lose branches occasionally, but it’s dead wood, anyway. I just keep getting closer to the sun and more magnificent every year.

I always have a lot in the works. Even when my body or brain isn’t completely cooperating, it is doing its job the best it can. I have made peace with the struggle. This has freed me to experience the wonders of life, no matter how I feel, physically.

During some of the hardest years of my life, I met a partner that is amazing. He is supportive and excited to see what I create (and willing to create with me). We are working on a blog (elsewhere) that is focused on relationships and sex. That’s another story that will be coming soon.

This blog is about my journey with chronic illness and overcoming an eating disorder, all while taking care of my dad, going through grief, after he died, and maybe a little about meeting the love of my life.
